Writers Unite

This is a post showing my solidarity for Writers. The Writers Guild of America (WGA) said enough is enough and decided to go on strike as of May 2nd. The WGA represents over 12,000 mainly based in United States of America however, here in Canada we are definitely taking note and as a writer myself, I show my full support. The WGA is on strike for better compensation and equity structures…most importantly the situation of streamers and residuals. Meaning if a writer wrote for a project on Netflix (for example), then they would get an initial payment but no residuals when these streaming services are making millions with its rising popularity. There are many television shows for example talk show The View and SNL that rely on writers and as a result there are many shows that have had to halt production which proves just how instrumental writers are. #IStandWithWriters
